History

Clean & Clear Corporation was founded in 1999.

Our first product was a filtration system to remove amalgam from discharge water in dental offices.  Although effective, demand for this application was low, so this particular product and market niche has been abandoned for now.

However, the knowledge gained by this initial experience produced patent pending filtration technology which enabled the development of the Clean & Clear OSD (Oil/Water Separation Device) product line which was introduced in 2001 and has been marketed on a limited basis since that time.  Clean & Clear OSD solutions successfully remove tramp oils from water or water based fluids such as oily air compressor condensate, antifreeze, water based machine tool coolant, water based parts washer fluid, and marine bilge water.   Deliberately marketed on a limited basis, OSD systems have been sold to reference accounts including  firms such as Bureau of Engraving, Liquid Containers, Medtronic, Quad Graphics, RTI, Seagate Technology, Suburban Manufacturing, and Caterpillar.

Leveraging the technology employed and learning gained from the OSD product and market development experience, and having developed new patent pending housing technology, Clean & Clear is now bringing to market its Wellspring® line of drinking water filtration solutions for filtering water supplies at their point or entry or their point of use.

Looking Ahead

An area of focus for Clean & Clear’s future research and development efforts will be applications where water is currently used once and then goes down a drain.

Clean & Clear technology can be employed to clean such wastewater for reuse.  While not of potable quality, the reclaimed waste water could certainly be recycled for use in applications such as cooling systems, washing cars, and watering lawns, gardens, and golf courses.  For example:

bulletCar washes: rather than used once then flushed down the drain, waste water at a car wash could be recovered, filtered, and recycled.
bulletSeptic systems: rather than used once then flushed down the drain, waste water could be recovered, filtered, and reused in cooling systems or irrigation systems.
